You know I woke up this morning not even acknowledging that it was Australia Day ... because to me it has no significance. I dont March anymore because the marches dont seem to push a political agenda/statement they used to do ... I know people might say its a day to stand united with other Blackfellas ... but thats hypocritical ... because every other days of the year we all fighting and arguing with one another ... I know people might say that its a day to remember our warriors who we have lost in the battle of sovereignty or any other social injustice ... but I dont need Australia Day to do this ... I remember them every day of my life ... because I wish they were still here to lead us ... since we have no real leadership anymore ... where have all those flowers gone 😔 Ive spent the last week or so justify myself to other Aboriginal Australians on various posts and pages ... some people have even accused me of sending the wrong messages about Sovereignty and still be an assimilated because I have non-accepted ideologies on the way forward for Aboriginal Australians ... We thank my ancestors that I do ... because I am still practicing aboriginal governance ... in the past we had men and women business (yarning circles) and then community business - which was a gathering place to discuss matters to deal within the tribe ... everyone had input into community matters (good or bad) ... But once a decision was made ... it was lore ... no more discussion on the matter ... As such that is what I do ... put my opinions forward ... but just because they liked doesnt mean I can not continue to do so ... unless I am breaking LORE ... I will continue to do so Besides ... society needs alternative thinkers because if we all though the say ... we would get nowhere ... those alternative thinkers are necessary for contingency planning ... because as we all no ... there is NO ONE solution to ANY problem or challenge ... Just felt like defending myself ... yet again ... because I am and always will be a reflective thinker ... I welcome opposing opinions ... but only in the spirit of a good debate ... not personal challenges or devaluation of who and what I believe in and my reason for doing so ... Thanks for taking the time to listen to me ❤️
