You know how things you hear when you are a kid make a lasting impression. My father bought my mother a pressure cooker when I was a little girl so she could make venison nice and tender. Venison was our major source of our red meat when my dad was trying to feed a family of six on a U.S. Fish and Wildlife trappers salary. When he brought home the cooker he told Mom how dangerous pressure cookers could be and if she didnt use it right, it would blow up the whole house. I hoped she would use it right and she always did. Now I have a pressure cooker in this house left here by my daughter. It would be a very useful thing for cooking black beans which take forever on the stove top. Keeping the stove on all day heats up the house, something you really dont want to do in the tropics. Ive now taken it out off the cupboard. Maybe some day soon, Ill be brave enough to use it.
