You know that guy at work thats hardworking and always makes you laugh? Our guy at Wissota is Josh Johnson. Lets get to know the guy otherwise knows as Tats. Raleigh, North Carolina native and current Farmington, Minnesota resident Josh “Tats” Johnson started skydiving in 2009. He did a tandem skydive with some friends for “something to do that weekend” and after landing thought, “I want to keep doing that!” While Josh didn’t like the nerves of learning to skydive, he thrived on the anticipation of making those first few jumps. Josh was a spinner as a student and his “ah hah” and favorite skydiving moment was when he finally figured out how to stop his turning and keep his heading. He currently has over 700 skydives and loves that “every jump is different, new and exciting”. Josh is a USPA rated Coach and Static Line Instructor, as well as Wissota’s Safety and Trainer Advisor, packer, videoagrapher, and late night club-housekeeper. He likes to dabble in many disciplines in the sport: from canopy relative work to four way to swooping to the goof ball skydives that make your abs hurt from laughing so hard after you land. After he finishes his weekdays as a waste management specialist, Josh enjoys renovating RV’s and honing his burrito and sandwich making skills.
