You know, these Islamophobic news stories are a symptom as well a problem. Problem in the sense that it is affecting popular opinion about Muslims and using scare tactics to demonize the British Muslim minority. But also a symptom: the product of the underlying forces at work. I would really love for someone to expose the right wing think-tanks that are trying to get their agenda fulfilled through the use of the media. Someone please develop a group dedicated to exposing such think tanks, and then find the legitimate way to ban such groups for creating divisions in society in the name of freedom of speech/press. Pro-activity is the way we need to do this. Otherwise these news stories are going keep reappearing and we will forever keep on writing rebuttals and disclaimers. Not to mention it will continue to affect a generation of British Muslims, making them feel insecure about their identity.
