You may have noticed that the post is putting our house in order, striving for the excellence our veterans and community deserves. One of the more visible changes are those to our facilities and club amenities. Phase 1. We have with club funds renovated the restrooms, Artifacts Room, Lounge, and Restaurant. We are now entering phase two to renovate the main hall, bar, relocate the post’s office, and do some upgrades in the kitchen. Phase 2. This requires a capital campaign to raise the $85,000 needed for these renovations. A letter has been drafted for presentation to the area business community reaching out to them for assistance. Phase 3. This is the external renovations. As members, this is our house. It is our responsibility. Let us make it a hospitable and inviting one that is warm and welcoming to veterans, their families and our community. It should reflect the pride in our service in the military and now our continued service in the community. Donations of any amount will be accepted. Please make your checks and money orders out to the Willmar Legion with Renovation written in the memo field of the check or money order. We will provide updates on progress in each issue of the newsletter and at the club. Mail your contributions to: AUSTIN F.
