You probably dont know this but in my 20s I spent a few years as a volunteer rape crisis counselor. This quote reminded me of a young lady who was raped for the 2nd time in her life; this time her niece was with her and she was more torn up about her than herself. She felt that because she was stronger she could handle it better than her niece that didnt deserve it. It took me a minute to wrap my head around that. I think of her to this day because it hurt me to hear her discount herself nor cause le the quote no matter how strong you are it doesnt mean you deserve pain or to be hurt. I pray she found happiness and healing.
