Young Chester, the Black Lab mix, has no clue as to why his people never came for him. A bit underweight, he got a bit nervous when they tried to examine him and put him in a cage at Manhattan ACC. He was even more nervous when after a few days in that cage, they took him to a strange room with another stranger for his behavioral: Chester“was extremely fearful and repeatedly attempted to get away from the handler during the assessment”. For being scared, ACC has decided to put Chester on tomorrow’s euthanasia list and made him New Hope only. But look at that eval carefully, and you’ll see a very scared young dog who had no resource guarding issue, no real aggressive behavior and was fine on dog on dog item. So tonight, this boy needs that one person who takes a second look at him and pictures having Chester walking along side as they go for long walks (or runs); who pictures playtime in the yard or doggie park; who pictures Chester lying at their feet as they watch TV. If you can see it all in your head, start working with rescues to foster or adopt Chester. Let him become your new bff—that’s really all he wants to be!
