Your brain is like a computer in one fascinating way. Picture this visual. Picture you (your brain) as a circuit board with ports all over it. Anything from the world that your senses pick up goes through these ports (inputs) and creates your programming. Your output depends directly on your input + your feelings (your brain uses feelings to determine your reaction to the external environment by analyzing the input and determining what to do NOW) Your feelings don not predict any future set of circumstance solutions. That must happen by rationalizing with logic and deduction which feelings dont deal with. This is a more difficult computation for your brain. By monitoring, crafting, and securing your input by filtering out emotionally negative data and preventing that data from entering your ports, you not only create a higher positive emotional environment in your brain, but you begin to have less computational stress. Your brain can rely on choosing and managing all positive data since there is no negative. This makes your output positive or more positive depending on the internal decisions, instead of your output having to range from very negative to very positive. In this way you lessen the room for error and have consistently (faster reached) better decisions. The more this is done, the faster and better you will compute. And in the human experience our brains let us know we are doing well by creating pleasureful emotions. When we are doing poorly our brain creates negative emotions. By bypassing the input of negative data we make decisions better and more positively.
