Your history books do not provide a lot of detail about how our people became an endangered species. The most popular scenario that ppl tend to believe is that Native Americans simply died off because they were removed from their natural habitat. But the reality is that in the decades between Columbus discovery of America and the Mayflower landing at Plymouth Rock, the most devastating plague in human history was introduced to the Amerikas. This plague wiped out about 96 percent of Native Americans in Massachusetts. Historians estimate that before the plague, the Native American population was anywhere between 20 and 100 million. The plague would eventually sweep West, killing at least 90 percent of the native population. Many historians believe it is the single most important event in American history.
