Youre My Hero - Teresa James *Lyrics* ( for papa Remy) A letter to dad January 13, 2015 When I was a little girl, I always folliowed you wherever you . You held my little hands as we walk through the thick crowds in the marketplace to make sure that his little one will not get lost. I always refused my afternoon naps in fear that you leave my side while I am asleep. You put me to bed and tell stories of long ago and it never bothered you even if you have to tell them over and over again because someone wanted you do so. You put me in your shoulders so that I can pretend to be as tall as you are and my little hands would clasp and cover your eyes for I would refuse to hold unto your head. I always love to watch you cook or paint or even do carpentry! Too bad I never got those skills:)) You call me funny and ridiculous nicknames that is sometimes annoying. But you have a cute way of saying it that makes me laugh and erases my frown away. You are stern yet also gentle. You love your children so much and your patience is extra ordinary. You have high dreams for your children. We dream dreams together. I was nine when i told you what I wanted to be and you just smiled and said yes. I never thought that you have kept that in your heart until I was ready for it and you were there to support me, to go on and pursue those dreams. You believed in me. You were so certain that I will reach them. You were so proud that you talked about it not only to your friends but also to strangers, even to the people that cared for you in the hospital. Then you went away and I was shattered. The superman that I used to dream my dream with is gone. For a moment I thought my dreams were over. But I remembered how much you brag to your friends about it. I realized that you have seen my dreams through my eyes, so I promised you in your grave, papa, I will be a nurse and you will be proud me. More than two decades have passed and now I have reached those dreams. I wish you were here to see that and celebrate it with us. I wish you are here today to see your children, to see us fight and succeed. You are gone. But the memories of you will always be here in our hearts. You did not have enough but you gave us your everything. You taught us how to understand each others differences. You made us understand what unconditional love is. You taught us how to see wisdom amidst the pain and happiness and we thank you for that. We love you papa Remy and we terribly miss you! But you are now in a better place, looking down on us, making sure that we are okay... you may not be able to hold those little hands anymore or carry her on you shoulders or call her annoying nanes but I know that you are watching over her, watching us and holding us in your heart for eternity..Happy Birthday In heaven Papa Remy! Your little errand girl, Abing
