Youre not alone. I monitor the news because of the potential - TopicsExpress

Youre not alone. I monitor the news because of the potential that they may actually begin to cover our congressional race, and I see the hyper-partisan slant of their coverage. And, despite knowing otherwise, it feels like we are alone, staring into the mouth of the lion that our government has created, and yelling Stop! Gauging simply by their coverage you would think we have just hit a few speed bumps and everything is just rosy for the country. This slant is part of a larger, ongoing battle, not between ideas, but between ideologies. We won the battle of results a long time ago, yet due to the media praetorian guard, the battle of intentions is sadly being lost. Proof-positive was a piece published today by a left-leaning columnist, named Barry Rascovar, on a local media aggregator site about the Republican Party (I apologize, but I refuse to link to the piece and drive traffic to hit-pieces). Heres just one quote from this hate-filled piece, which ruthlessly disparages Republicans on the immigration issue: It seems they don’t want anyone entering this country unless the immigrants are Anglo-Saxon Christians who believe the “G” in GOP stands for God. Hostility toward immigrants is in the Grand Old Partys DNA. Reporting on media bias, and me sharing this story, will do nothing to dissuade ignorant people like Rascovar from writing this garbage, so I implore you to take action and to join the fight. These people are not your friends and Republican Party leaders better wake up to this sad fact. If I had a dime every time some political insider told me to just be nice to them and theyll come around, I could pay off the national debt they continue to ignore. I urge you to take these steps today: -if you have an online or hard-copy subscription to a news outlet, that refuses to play it straight, cancel it as soon as you can -before you donate to your college, if you choose to do so, ask them about their commitment to ideological diversity in their schools of journalism and their humanities programs, and if they cant answer, tell them you cant donate -spend your entertainment dollars wisely and do not subsidize movies, television or any other medium that mocks, and diminishes, principles you have selflessly committed your life to -and, finally, fight back by using your social media accounts (if you dont have one, get one, dont cede the forum) to constantly call attention to the deceptive, divide-and-conquer campaigns permeating the media ecosystem, and embarrass them into listening. Stop subsidizing this war on Conservatives, Libertarians, Republicans and Constitutionalists with your hard-earned money. You are not alone. We are nearly half of this great country, and our numbers would be far higher if people were told the truth. Fight for the truth and commit to taking these small steps towards a better tomorrow today. Our collective voice is their collective demise, but only if we use it. -Dan
