Youth Action is a non-governmental, not-for-profit organisation established in 2013. The organisation is based on the principles and values of freedom, democracy, social dominance, equality, justice meritocracy and solidarity. Our main purpose is promote active citizenship amongst the youth in order to modernise our society, maximise democracy and justice, to protect and ensure human rights and the progress and well-being in Cyprus, Europe and the world. Youth Action believes that young people should actively participate in society as it is a precondition for modernising the state and government as well as contributing in solving the issues of society. Main purposes of the organisation is to encourage and promote active citizenship amongst the youth, exchange of ideas between countries, the development of young people and their ideas and proposals, to provide solutions on the issue of youth unemployment, to contribute in educational reforms and career advice. Also, we aim to promote the values of volunteering and doing charity work as giving back to the society. We aim to provide information to young people regarding employment opportunities, education and career advice as well as acting as the platform of communication between young people and the government. We commit in becoming a strong lobby for young people and fighting the war against youth unemployment by taking a stand for our rights.
