Zachary Sullivan will sign a National Letter of Intent tomorrow to attend and play baseball for Stony Brook University on Long Island. Stony Brook is a Division 1 collegiate baseball program that competes in the American East Conference. The Stony Brook Seawolves advanced to the 2012 Division 1 College World Series and were the first team from the Northeast Region to advance in the Series since the NCAA geographical region change in 1987. Sullivan is a three year starting varsity baseball player at shortstop. He was also the starting shortstop on the Junior Varsity squad in grades 7th, 8th and 9th. Sullivan was named to the All-STAC first team as a sophomore and a junior. While in his junior year, he was named to the fourth team All-State team as a shortstop. He was also named as an Under Armour Pre-Season All-American in his junior year. 2013 Varsity Baseball Stats: Led the team in the following Offensive Categories. Batting Average: .433 Runs: 19 Hits: 26 RBI: 19 Triples : 4 Total Bases: 39 In addition to playing for the Corning Hawks, Sullivan also plays for the Syracuse Sports Zone in Syracuse, New York. Sullivan, who plays center field for the Sports Zone has stacked up many impressive statistics this year while having the opportunity to showcase his talents across the country. This past summer, Sullivan was selected as a player to the 2013 Area Code team and played for the New York Yankees scout team in Long Beach, California. He was named to the All-Tournament team and 1 of 10 players in the tournament to hit over .400. Sullivan also played for the New York Yankees scout team at Yankee Stadium in New York City. Sullivan was also selected to the 2013 East Coast Pro team and played for the Philadelphia Phillies scout team in Syracuse, New York. To close the summer, Sullivan played for the New York Mets Scout team and had the opportunity to play at Citi Field in New York. More recently, Sullivan finished his Sports Zone career playing for the Syracuse Sports Zone Chiefs in Jupiter, Florida in October. Sullivan is ranked in the top 100 high school players in the country by Perfect Game. Zachary is an honor roll student at Corning East High School where he is actively involved in school events and community service. He is very excited for the opportunity to attend Stony Brook and play for the Division 1 Seawolves. Zachary plans to major in Business Administration.
