#ZarbEAzb Update : 27 Jul 14 1. Operation ZarbeAzb continues to achieve its objectives and is progressing well. After clearance of Miranshah, Boya, Degan from terrorists, Mirali Town along with its neighboring villages, the second largest stronghold of terrorists has been 70% cleared by security forces till this morning. House to house search continues. 2 huge ammunition factories with ammunition stock were recovered yesterday. 30 x barrels filled with explosives and chemicals used for making IEDs were also recovered from 2 x large underground tunnels during Clearance of Mirali. 2. A massive IED, weighing 5,000 KGs was recovered from Boya, and was diffused by the expert Counter IED team of Army Engineers. Later when detonated, it shook the entire agency and the explosion was heard as far as settled area. 3. Total of 570 x terrorists have been killed since start of Operation Zarb-e-Azb. 98 x Terrorists hideouts and 30 x IEDs making factories, 3 ammunition making factories, number of suicide bomber training centers were destroyed during Operation. Huge cache of arms, communication equipment, propaganda literature have also been recovered. 34 x Security forces personnel have embraced shahadat during the operation within NWA alone. 4. Relief Work: - Distribution of relief items for IDPs continues at Bannu, DI Khan and Tank. 152000 x ration packs ( each weighing 110 Kilogram)have been distributed so far. - 53000 x special eid packages have been distributed among IDPs and distribution of more packages is in progress. - 37000 x patients have been treated at the Field Medical Hospitals at Bannu by Army. - 20700 x cattle have been provided veterinary treatment, while 51345 cattle and 68872 x poultry have been vaccinated. - 44 Tons of fodder have been distributed for live stock.
