Zimbabwe Dirty Politics: In Focus Zimbabweans and the world at large are a waiting to see the Vice President Amai Mujuru as heir to succeed President Robert Mugabe. We had a similar situation in Malawi where by, soon after President Professor Bingo Wamuthalika died; the Vice President Amai Joyce Banda took over. In democratic situations this is how likely should play and no other way round. Today, Malawi is a shining example to democracy, where government changes hands without a drop of blood. Forma president Gubuza of Mozambique has or proven the same point that President Robert Mugabe must do the honour to retire allow his deputy to take the rein, instead of diving the party and destroying investor confidence. There is no need for the president to appoint his wife as a successor because it is unconstitutional. Democracy is never about voting President Robert Mugabe, but rather adhering to governance principles. Zimbabwe is on record flattering democratic rules, and the President Robert Mugabe talk’s better about him, and yet spends his time talking about Europeans (WEST). The president must practice what he preaches. The expulsion of the vice president from the ruling party might be Grace Mugabe mistakes to regret. Mugabe dynasty on the card, other ZANU PF members are not taking it lightly. They will never let it go without a fight. The wife of President Mugabe has thrown all insults to the vice president and other functional leaders accusing them as rebels and puppets of the Vice Presidents. The battle lines are drawn. Mai Mujuru lays low awaiting better opportunity to strike her. As the congress draws closer, there is more conflict than ever because of unprocedural succession. Commentaries from Zimbabwe say that, the politics is in the country is increasingly becoming too dangerous. Lovemore Madhuku said that, President Robert Mugabes wife, Grace will risk a possibility of assassinated by her ZANU PF backers if she went ahead and tried to succeed her decomposing 90-year-old husband. Speaking during a SAPES Trust panel discussion on Thursday evening, Madhuku said that, Grace Mugabe was being used by the Emmerson Mnangagwa faction within ZANU PF to ensure Vice President Joyce Mujuru, who is the Constitutional heir to the Presidency, did not ascend to the throne in the event of Mugabes death, or retirement. Grace Mugabe who is used to create confusion in the party says that, she is not angling for Vice-President, the attacks on the Vice President is a clear sign that President Mugabe has found escape goat to carry on with his dirty politics while he avoids succession debate. Mugabe will use any instruments that he sees better to create a political confusing so that, by the time he dies, Zimbabwe is destroyed leaving a political cloud a Somalia in making. The Mugabe dynasty is surely threatening and increasingly causing political war wash in Zimbabwe. Till this end, nobody in Zimbabwe is able to tell exactly where Grace Mugabe is drawing her exclusive powers to shack the government even though she is not a member of cabinet, especially attacking the vice president. Grace Mugabe on campaign trail, referring to Mujuru and powerful Justice Minister Emmerson Mnangagwa - who in the past controlled the secret police and military as puppets fighting to successor her husband, she told the dubitation dancing crowd that, it will never happen. She went further to accuse the vice president and her cronies of sympathizing with opposition parties to drive the regime change. These two are seen as the leading contenders to replace 90-year-old Mugabe when he steps down or dies, but Grace Mugabes recent entry into politics, swift rise to power within the ruling ZANU-PF and ferocious attacks on Mujuru, have raised the prospect that the vice presidents star is waning. Grace Mugabes comments would appear to be an opening gambit in the end game to succeed her husband. Zanu-PF will hold a crunch elective congress in December. Robert Mugabe is expected to be confirmed as the partys leader, but the fight for positions on the powerful politburo could be decisive. Mugabe has been in power since 1980, the lonely dictator and has long avoided appointing a successor. Grace Mugabe has also accused the Vice President Joyce Mujuru of spreading rumours about her involvement in Zimbabwes lucrative diamond trade. Uncertainty over Mugabes succession and concern over his age and failing health have divided the party and government, stalled growth in the ailing economy, with investors adopting a wait and see attitude.
