Zoraida weakens to LPA, but PH still mostly rainy,,Tropical Depression Zoraida has weakened to low pressure area (LPA) by Tuesday afternoon, according to the bulletin issued at 5 a.m. on Wednesday by the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA). As of 4 a.m. Tuesday, the LPA was spotted at 115 km east of Puerto Princesa City in Palawan. It will give Palawan cloudy skies with moderate to heavy rain showers and thunderstorms which may trigger flashfloods and landslides. PAGASA said this LPA may grow stronger again outside Philippine territory and become a a tropical depression by the time it hits Vietnam. Meanwhile, the northeast monsoon, or amihan, continues to affect northern parts of Luzon. PAGASA has spotted bands of rainclouds all over Luzon affecting mostly its central part, including CALABARZON (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, and Quezon) and the Bicol Region. This LPA will also bring light to moderate rains over MIMAROPA (Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, and Palawan). While Palawan will bear much heavy rains, the rest of the country will be partly cloudy to cloudy with only isolated rain showers or thunderstorms. Moderate to strong winds blowing from the northeast and east will prevail over Luzon and Visayas, making the coastal waters along these areas moderate to rough. Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate coming from the southwest to southeast with slight to moderate seas. In Luzon, its rainy over Calapan, Legazpi, and Puerto Princesa. There will also be rain showers and isolated thunderstorms in Laoag, Manila, Tagaytay, and Tuguegarao. In the Visayas, rains will prevail over Borongan and Iloilo. Well see some localized thunderstorms in Tacloban, Cebu, Tagbilaran, and Dumaguete. In Mindanao, its mostly wet weather, as clouds bring rain over Cotabato, Butuan, Cagayan de Oro, Davao, and Zamboanga, while there will be localized thunderstorms in General Santos City.
