______________________________ POSITION SUMMARY Under the direction of the Controller and in collaboration with the Development, Production and Program Departments, the Grants Manager bears overall responsibility for all the accounting and compliance activities associated with foundation, government and program grants, including show cost reporting, and reporting to the Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB), among others. Using nonprofit financial and accounting software, the successful candidate will have the demonstrated ability to prepare grants reports to all stakeholders, and to reconcile billings to the General Ledger, and to write and submit accurate and timely foundation, government and other donor reports as required. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB Reporting and Analysis Ensures accurate and timely preparations and submissions of grant reports to donors. Reconciles billings to General Ledger including journal entries, foundation/government reports, revenues and expenditures. In collaboration with Development and Production/Program staff, prepares budgets and amendments as required and monitors grant financial goals on a monthly and quarterly basis. Reviews grant reports and communications with donors and stakeholders for accuracy and compliance prior to submission. Monitors on an ongoing basis grant budgets and expenditures to ensure targets are met. Works with applicable departments to gather data for reports and ensures that proper records are maintained. Prepares written and statistical reports for various stakeholders. Administration Performs various general grant administration functions such as billings, budget amendments, plan changes, program evaluations, etc. In conjunction with the Controller, ensures accurate and timely preparation of grant billings and reports, and creates and maintains appropriate spreadsheets and documentation to support grant expenses. Performs ongoing monitoring of grant program goals and monthly performance. Communicates relevant grant information with agency departments and all other appropriate internal stakeholders. Compliance In collaboration with the Director of Foundations & Corporate Relations serves as a resource on grant compliance, participates in the review of new funding opportunities, and provides critical feedback on institutional eligibility and risk. Conducts internal compliance audits on funded projects. Works with Development and Finance staff to streamline and maintain a single, accurate institutional database of grants, contracts, and cooperative agreements. Other Attends donor meetings and trainings as needed. In conjunction with the Controller, develops grant administration policies and procedures in accordance with state, local, and federal regulations. Performs any other duties, as requested or required. Position Requirements Bachelor’s degree in business administration, accounting or finance and three to five years’ of nonprofit grants management experience. Strong understanding of Non Profit Accounting or Public Broadcasting practices. Strong mathematical and analytical skills for monitoring accounting records and resolving accounting problems. Strong computer skills with excellent spreadsheet abilities for financial modeling, including computerized GL maintenance experience (Navision). Demonstrated ability to work independently and under time constraints. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
