a busy week completed! i feel very honoured to have been invited to be an assecor, that saw six new english ELPO members complete there certifications, in live sole hoof mapping. natural balance barefoot trimming and become certified natural balance farriers.the week was finished of with a mind blowing day of lectures hosted by total foot protection.(maybe one of the best lecture days i have ever attended) thiis saw tom hughes a veterinary surgeon from liphook discuss proximal limb injurys. tom hughes a vet from bell equine discuss distal limb injurys including the use of MRI in diagnostics. chris wigians discussed the correlation between MRI findings and the use of crosscheck lever testing results. mark caldwell discussed the forces excerted on the limb during each stage of a stride following his studys using force plates. david nicholes discussed some alternative therapies such as chiropratic ,physiotharapy bowen and aqua training and was concluded by another great lecture by gene overnick who discussed what all this infomation means to the horse and what we as farriers can do to help not only treat these lameness issues but help PREVENT them.
