a volunteer writes: Take a look at 5 year old Remey’s Intake Picture—are you appalled? Well apparently, even ACC thought that the dog had been so terribly abused/neglected, that they put Remey on Legal Hold (meaning that criminal charges were being considered). Fast forward with no indication of much of anything other than that poor Remey caught the shelter “cold” and here he is on tomorrow’s euthanasia list. So much for accountability. But right now, the focus has to be on getting poor Remey to safety. ACC has made even that harder by slapping a New Hope only label on him because he would not let that big plastic hand take his toy, his rawhide or his food! Never mind that he was skin and bones when he came in and likely had to protect every morsel of food he ever got! Remey has a ways to go both physically and mentally. He did not trust that stranger who brought him into a strange room, leashed him and tried to get him to run around, squeeze his paw, tried to take his food away. There’s a lot that’s unknown about Remey so he will need a patient experienced foster to give him time and to reassure him that he is worth a lot more than he’s been shown by all the people who have failed him. If you think that you can do it for Remey, start applying to rescues to foster or adopt him. But do it right now—Remey will be gone tomorrow. Let show him that there is some justice in this world and that there are finally some humans who care about him!
