...all of our ancestors came to this country, and were themselves - TopicsExpress

...all of our ancestors came to this country, and were themselves originally unwelcome. Because thats the story of America. From Ben Franklins worry that Germans were ruining Pennsylvania, to our 19th century 60-year ban on the Chinese immigrants who had just finished building our rail system, to our very real and justifiable concerns about the Irish, and their insatiable applying for jobs. We have always been a nation of immigrants who hate the newer immigrants. NOTE - if you read carefully (without bias) youll note this is an observation of fact, not a political statement. That said, those previous generations of immigrants were allowed a reasonable path to citizenship. They walked off the boats and BANG - US citizen. No job, no money, big family, dont speak the language. no problem welcome to the US of A. These were OUR ancestors. Now, Im overly simplifying this of course, but one thing our government is good at is overly complicating things. Lets streamline the GD immigration process, get these people into the system, so that they can start paying taxes and be less of a drain on the system. Theyre not going anywhere, so lets deal with it.
