alright, some have posed questions about what the shift in ruling actually is for the modified breaststroke pull-out. here are a couple of clips showing the innovator of this technique (japanese former world record holder kosuke kitajima). basically youll note that he initiates the dolphin kick while still completely in the streamline position (as opposed to the traditional act of performing said kick while in the process of the arms moving through the pull-out). if youre not looking for it, you wont even notice. its a microsecond change in technique that offers a solid 1-2 yards added for further distance underwater depending on your proficiency with this aspect of the stroke. the beauty of this is that its completely optional. its not necessarily effective for everyone, but it can be fun to have something new with which to tinker! https://youtube/watch?v=sDaLdqQwPco https://youtube/watch?v=3sjjv-vNExs
