an email: Hi Gem, What a scorching summer weve had... LET ME STOP YOU THERE We had 3 scorching weeks in July and then a load of dreary, chilly, grey meh as usual for August. Like we do every year. Haha, I had an argument with David about this who says Im never happy. WELL IM NOT. Why would I be HAPPY with a completely grey and meh August?! Its bloody August. It aint natural. I wont be happy until we get 3 solid months of sunshine. Temperate climate means four seasons which means they should all equally be spread through the year. Which means three months of summer, three months being a quarter of the year, which should constitute a *season*. Three weeks of glorious weather is nice and Im not complaining, but it does not A Summer make. Basically, our summers are bollocks, and if I was to get married and wanted a Glorious Summer Wedding, Id not get married in the summer. Id pick September. December, January and February should be crispy cold with a few lovely icy/snowy days. March, April and May should be sunny with big white clouds and rain showers at perfectly timed, predictable intervals. June, July and August should all be brightly sunshiney with an hour of rain each night for the plants. September, October and November can be grey and meh if it wants to be but ffs, dont take the piss. THEN ILL BE HAPPY
