choppin it up with some old dapper chap. An elderly man has been walking in and out for a couple hours now... he seemed very focused so I let him be. Until the fella approaches the desk and asks, So young man, is there any cocktail lounge anywhere in Long beach? I have been walking up and down Willow and none exist! I used to live in this here town decades ago and can only recognize the street names. so I adjusted his vision towards a small bar that he missed multiple times this evening. He gave his thanks and returned an hour later with less tension on his brow. I was informed by little sis, Nosey, that he is to attend his 65th Poly High school Reunion. Wow. I had to shake his hand. He attended the school in the 40s. whew. He told me how different the entire town has become. He couldnt find his favorite bar nor favorite restaurant. So to assist his recovery I printed directions for all the places he needed to be. He was very happy for the big help. It is a humbling role to see. this fella seen it all yet cannot see it anymore. He helped build almost half the sights in town. He had a hand in the creation of our Arena, many schools, El Dorado Park, and Hospitals. He was pleased to hear that he and I are fellow Jackrabbits and have a mutual love for this city. He told me of where hed go on a Friday evenings after the football games and how he loved to watch the Jordan High School band rock the field during half time at homecoming. Im glad to have encountered this gentlemen. It is rare to have such pleasant conversations with strangers. I hope his reunion is awesome and he and them foxies jitterbug till their hip pops out. yeeeaaah maaann!!! Jackrabbit win habit.
