day 2: today was a good day. started the morning off with breakfast in bed ( is there any other way?), then received a beautiful bouquet of flowers from the Bedford Police Dept. great timing as some of the original flowers are just now starting to wither. the staff just loves the fact that almost all the wall space and ledges are covered in flowers pics and cards. one said, hows that for motivation! my sentiments exactly. she went thru PT today and we got her into a drivable chair. wasnt easy, but when given the option of stopping and going back to bed, she said no, just give me a minute and Ill be fine. the PT felt and pointed out a noted contraction in her left leg. great sign. then they took off. Jaime had enough grip to control the joystick and maneuver around herself. def brought a smile. and once back in bed, she felt she was able to move her thumb and gave me the thumbs up pic i sent out earlier. the highlite of the day was the shower. OT came in and we got her into a diff chair and into the shower so she could finally clean off two weeks worth of sand, sweat, adhesive residue, and knotty hair. make sure you get between my toes she said. wrote that one down to use on her at a later date. after lunch and a a short nap the second OT came in and gave her a great massage. then worked her hand and wrists a bit and showed Jaime how shes able to move her fingers a bit today. more great progress. Teryn Clark came by for a visit and night cap. shes been making #CarnucciStrong bracelets for Jaime or anyone who may want one. J had a craving for dessert, so T and I went out to Bostons north end, had a pizza, and brought back some cheesecake and cannolis for us all to share. great way to end the night, though not def not part of my training regimen. so a few punishment sit ups or burpees before bed. my day was filled with calls and messages and texts from everywhere. too many to thank and mention individually. Ive tried to answer each one, but if for any reason i havent responded, please know that its precisely these messages and texts and pics of #CarnucciStrong thats keeping me going. keeping US going. and I couldnt be more grateful. so heres to a thumbs up for today! thanks for taking the time. #CarnucciStrong
