day 4 of #eidingthefeast meal sponsorship: i picked up todays order and then my low petrol light came on and my biggest fear was being stuck on the highway with 50 junior sausage rolls, 50 packets of funballs (cheesy fried meatballs), 60 packets of milo and a special kitkat cake for kit kat boy. but thankfully, i found the nearest ESSO in record time, and fueled up before making my way down to Pertapis. yesterday, after posting about the boy who shared with me about his birthday and love for kitkat, bakernonymous sends me a text wanting to bake him a kit kat cake. i am constantly surrounded by the most selfless of people, really. so today, after i collected the meal for the day, i met bakernonymous at Pertapis itself where we showed the boy his cake and where we were also greeted with a lot of excitement. when i drove up, and opened the car door, the boys came running, perhaps having recognised me as the girl who brings macdonalds and kfc (and all sorts of other things) and wanted to help. it was a slightly chaotic scene but thankfully, we managed to deliver everything to the kids :) overheard today after bakernonymous and i showed the boy his cake EH HOW DOES SHE KNOW YOU? how does she know its your birthday??? and then, when i opened the car door, wahhhhh!!!whats this !! macdonalds ah!! also i want to help i want to help!! and then before i knew it, i had children scrambling to unload the food. in the process of unloading everything, i may have unknowingly offloaded my a jar of nutella my mom needed for bakes today (Sorry mum!) but at least today, the kids have chocolate spread :p everyday, on my drive to Pertapis, i always contemplate and wonder if the kids will enjoy the meal.. will they like what weve given them... will they eat it? and then when im there, things are always a little chaotic and im always slightly emotional.. and then, after that, when im driving home, and thinking about the scene that just played before my very eyes, i see the smiles of the children - and i know, this is why we all took part in this project: for those smiles :) thank you my friends, for your kindness and generosity. today, in the form of sausage rolls, milo and chocolate cake, we put smiles on their faces. ~ Shereen
