dirty secrets Logging. I hate it. It makes me sick everyday when I see logging trucks on the road. Yeah, I know, we need wood. What we dont need, however is to clearcut entire forests and leave behind a wasteland of death. I was talking to someone recently and they were telling me about the massive amount of wood they see in the southern ports constantly being loaded onto ships and wondered where it came from. Well its not done in Seattle, or Bellevue, or Kirkland....its the outskirts that most people dont see that is plundered for its valuable loot. This. This is Washingtons dirty secret. And Im taking it upon myself to expose it. Ill be posting photos now and then of butchered forests - so expect some ugly amid my normal landscapes from time to time. I miss the trees. I worry about the creatures that once inhabited this forest. Where did they go? Where will they go next when the surrounding forest is pillaged? Ive been looking for some land to buy and build a home on. I want to find 4+ acres with some mature trees on it. But what Ive found is that it seems the entire state of Washington has been logged at one time or another in the last century. There arent really any mature trees anymore. Its a shame. Shame on us.
