for all the racial injustice being spoke about on about every media outlet there is, today I witnessed a Community come together to honor a fallen Firefighter Chief Tunie Hedrick. Tunie was of African American dissent but from the show of support and love displayed by the Community, his fellow Firefighters, his family and friends you would have never know it. Tunie was married to my wifes cousin and too see how their marriage bridged a racial divide and how each family from both races shared a common love through this man moved me to tears. The accolades for Tunie came from many spectors of our Community and showed how Color made no difference in how he was remembered. My prayer today (and I dont say many) was that more of our Society could learn from the Meadville community and Chief Tunie Hedrick family how the color of your skin does not make who your are, but the love and compassion you show towards your fellow man does. So rest in peace Tunie and remember to keep the Rubber side down as you ride along into eternity.
