frances ---------------BY BILL McMURDO Project Frankenstein Posted on July 16, 2013 by billmcmurdo The MonsterI see that Alex Salmond intends to brand the NO campaign as “Project Dracula.” If this is an indication of the comedic content he has asked his speech writers to come up with, it is an epic fail. Salmond is increasingly becoming more and more bizarre in his flailing attempts to keep his presidential aspirations on track. The “Project Dracula” jibe is intended to be a humourous commentary on the so-called scare tactics of Unionists. The fact that people may have genuine concerns and fears over Salmond’s desires to break up the UK has obviously not filtered through the megalomania that fogs his thinking. Clearly wee Eck is unaware of his own similarities to another classic horror figure – Baron von Frankenstein, that is. Salmond’s nefarious plan is to kill off the Union then, like the crazy Baron, take parts of the dead body to create a Frankenstein state. Salmond’s monster, sewn together with bits of the dead Union – the pound, the monarchy etc – is surely a frightful thing to consider. Why have a state rattling around with no real soul or heart when you can keep the Union? Of course, Salmond’s Achilles Heel is the same as Baron von Frankenstein – hubris and pride. Frankenstein wanted to create his monster for the kudos and acclaim it would bring him. Like Salmond, he pretended to himself that he was acting for the good of others. Recent pronouncements from Salmond have shown just how close the Frankenstein analogy is. He is actually now talking about Scotland still being part of the UK in some capacity. The problem with Salmond is that, like most separatists, he is consumed with petty jealousy and resentment towards the English. In his case, however, the resentment is personal. He wants to be accepted as an equal by British Prime Ministers but in order to do that he has to mingle with them. This leads to a curious dichotomy in his politics because his resentment at being treated as a lesser dignitary drives him to avenge this perceived slight and injustice by rebelling and leaving the Union. However, his desire to be affirmed and recognised as an equal means he is drawn to the very thing he resents. Not for Salmond the standard nationalist notion of “F*** the English!^ On the contrary, his desperate need to show his importance means he will never be able to break free in his own head. In many ways Salmond is the epitome of what nationalists claim to despise – he is a quisling. Salmond wants to rub shoulders with world leaders on the world stage and be treated as a peer. However, his very persona exudes what used to be called an inferiority complex. Separatists exploit this complex by trying to make Scots see themselves as inferior, as a subdued, colonised people. Nothing could be further from the truth. Scotland is the head of the nations and that is without dispute. Tomorrow I will be speaking in Glasgow on this very subject. People who are being fed the lies by nationalists would do well to quote Eleanor Roosevelt in reply: “No-one can make you feel inferior without your consent.” Or, as the old saying goes – “Wha’s like us?” We don’t need separatists messing with our heads. Intelligent Scots know that Scotland is and always has been the real dominant force in the Union. Just don’t tell the English…
