from Ribcage (I think) - arthritis hadnt sneaked in yet, at least not noticeably :) DAY BY DAY Today is doctors’ day, yesterday was banks squeezed in between cookinglaunderingshoppingcleaning and everything else a woman was really born to do like tending children who eatplayrunscream break china, practise strangling the dog (or cat, if you prefer) and wheedle up to daddy (who’s late again, of course, with beer or whisky on his breath) about just how mad mummy has got and what a cry-baby she always was how it was she who smashed the plates against the wall pulled off the teddy’s head still shrieking like a witch “I’ll tell daddy I’ll tell daddy”. (an extra pair of eyes joins The Reproach - it’s quite some institution). So yesterday was banks (and gratitude for money), whilst for the ulcer, varicose veins, and the general sorry state of mummy’s head today it’s doctors’ day. mgg
