full blooded indian the other day i saw a guy i remembered and i noticed him because he was wearing a bright yellow shirt and it said fbi full blooded indian in big letters across the front and back....he was standing in line at the bank...i remembered him because he is always at every game, every football game, every basketball game, every baseball game...sitting in the indian section as it were where all the indian families sit when they go into a bordertown community... Ronnie is his name and he always without fail when he sees me comes over and shakes my hand and asks about my son and knows each one by name...he knows sports and even though it has been a while since my sons have been playing ball he talks about a game like it was just yesterday...he talks with a twinkle in his eye and i ask about his daughter who is in junior high now...he is a single father and used to do odd jobs to make a living and still does to take care of her... Sometimes in life you find some folks who for whatever reason find an interest in you and seem to know what is going on with you even though you dont see each other for a long time...he is one of those kind of people....he just makes a living and lives his own life and yet he thrives in the indian community and he is at home there...it seems everyone knows him.... i know a little about him that when he was young his mother left him and he stayed with different people who took care of him living with different families sort like an orphan but he got by.... he is a little slower than most for some reason and works with his hands and is always hauling wood, cutting fence posts or something like that....he is a gift to the old people because he looks in on them and not so much for being nosy but dropping by and if sees something that should be done he does it without fanfare...he is for the most part a quiet man with an easy smile and when i see him occasionally when he is with his daughter he treats her like a queen....he is for the most part what a father should be.... i moved away from that community and by chance got to see him for a little bit...he came over and spoke with me for a little while then shook my hand and then he left...his bright yellow shirt matching his hair....and those blue eyes just twinkled...
