godawela@news -කඹුරුපිටියේ කොස්තාපල් ඝාතනයේ සැකකරුගේ නිවෙසට ගිනි ____________තියලා Police constable murder suspect’s house set on fire කුඩු සටනට බිලි වූ කඹුරුපිටිය පොලිස් කොස්තාපල්වරයා සහ ඔහුගේ බිරිය ඝාතනය සම්බන්ධයෙන් සැකකරනු ලබන බව කියන කැටයම් චින්තක නමැත්තාගේ නිවෙසට පිරිසක් විසින් ඊයේ රාත්‍රි ගිනි තබනු ලැබ තිබේ. ගිනි තැබීමෙන් නිවෙසේ පිටුපස කොටස විනාශ වී ඇති අතර යතුරුපැදියකට සහ නිවෙසේ භාණ්ඩ තොගයකට අලාභහානි සිදුවී ඇත. නිවෙස ගිනි ගන්නා අවස්ථාවේ කිසිවකු එහි සිට නැත. සැකකාර කැටයම් චින්තක නමැත්තාගේ බිරිය හා දරුවන් පොලිස් භාරයට ගෙන ඇති අතර ඔහුගේ මව පොලිසිය විසින් සොයමින් සිටී. සැකකරු මේ වන විට මාස්පොත රක්‍ෂිතයේ සැඟවී සිටින බවට ලැබී ඇති තොරතුරු මත පොලිස් විශේෂ කාර්ය බළකායේ නිලධාරීන් තුන්සීයත් හාරසීයත් අතර පිරිසක් එම රක්‍ෂිතය වටලා සෝදිසි මෙහෙයුමක නිරතව සිටිති. සැකකාර කැටයම් චින්තක නමැත්තා ඝාතනයට ලක්වූ පොලිස් කොස්තාපල්වරයාගේ නිවෙස ආසන්නයේම පදිංචිකරුවෙක් වන අතර ඔවුන් කුඩා කල සිට හිත මිතුරන්ව සිට ඇත. පසුව ඔහු මත්ද්‍රව්‍ය ජාවාරමට සම්බන්ධ වී ඇති බවට වාර්තා වේ. පොලිස් කොස්තාපල්වරයාගේ සහ ඔහුගේ බිරියගේ අවසන් කටයුතු සිදු කිරීමට පෙර ඥාතීන්, මිතුරන්, හිතවතුන් දහසකට ආසන්න පිරිසකගේ සහභාගිත්වයෙන් දේහයන් කඹුරුපිටිය අක්කර 50 පොළ අසලට ගෙනැවිත් සියලු දෙනා දකුණු අත ඔසවා නීතියේ සාධාරණත්වය ඉටුකරන්නැයි ඉල්ලමින් විනාඩියක නිහඬතාවක් පළ කළහ. අනතුරුව පොලිස් නිලධාරීන් විසින් දේහය බාරගෙන සුසාන භූමිය කරා ගෙන යෑමෙන් පසුව පොලිසිය ආචාර වෙඩි මුර දක්වා තම සහෝදර නිලධාරිවරයාට අවසන් ගෞරවය දැක්වීමෙන් අනතුරුව දේහයන් මිහිදන් කෙරිණි. පොලිස්පති එන්.කේ. ඉලංගකෝන් මහතා පොලිස් කොස්තාපල් සුනිල් මහතාගේ සහ ඔහුගේ බිරියගේ දේහයන්වලට අවසන් ගෞරවය දැක්වීම සඳහා පැමිණ සිටියේය. මාස්පොත ප්‍රදේශයේ සෑම හන්දියක් පාසාම පොලිස් නිලධාරීන් රඳවා තිබෙන ආකාරය සහ කළු කොඩි ඔසවා ඝාතකයට විරෝධය පළකරන බැනර් මෙන්ම පොලිස් නිලධාරියාගේ සේවය අගයමින් සටන්පාඨ සහිත බැනර්ද ප්‍රදර්ශනය කර තිබෙනු දක්නට ලැබිණි. A group has set fire to the house of ‘Katayam Chinthaka’ who has been identified as the chief suspect in the murder of a Police Constable and his wife in the Kamburupitiya area on 16 November. An unidentified group of persons had allegedly murdered a 32-year-old police Constable and his wife at their residence in Walasmulla, Kamburupitiya. Police Constable, Sunil Weligamaarachchi, an officer attached to the Matara Division Anti-vice Squad who recently engaged in a number of drug raids, his wife and two-year-old daughter had been attacked with clubs and sharp objectives. A large portion at the back of the house, a motorbike and many other objects in the house were destroyed due to the fire last night (19). However no persons were said to be inside the house at the time of the incident. The Police have taken the suspect’s wife and daughter into custody, while a search is being carried out for his missing mother. Around 300-400 officers of the Police Special Task Force have surrounded the Maspotha forest reserve to apprehend the suspect who is alleged to have hidden in the forest. Suspect ‘Katayam Chinthaka’ and the deceased Police constable are said to be childhood friends and residents of the same area, while the suspect had later got engaged in the drug business. The final rights of the deceased Police Constable and his wife were held at around 3 this afternoon, while the area residents of the Kamburupitiya were due to hold a peaceful protest in the area during the funeral. imran khan godawela@news -2013-11-21
