With the cold front offshore during the day Monday, the only lingering showers will be across parts of western Pennsylvania, Upstate New York and northern New England. Breezy northwest winds will usher in cooler air with highs from the 50s and 60s from the mountains westward to the 70s from Down East Maine to Virginia. Midwest | View Regional Video - As the cold front heads for the Northeast, a few severe thunderstorms could still develop in Ohio and eastern Kentucky before the front exits the region Sunday afternoon. - Meanwhile, showers and a few thundershowers will linger around the Great Lakes. - High pressure will be in control of most of the region with dry conditions west of the Mississippi. - Highs will range from the upper 40s and low 50s across Upper Michigan to the 70s in the Plains and near 80 degrees from southern Kansas to Kentucky. - From out of the West, showers and a few thunderstorms will begin to advance into southern South Dakota, Nebraska and western Kansas Monday while the remainder of the region will be dry under high pressure.
