First, cos its a top tune and should bring back memories for anyone over the age of 40. Second, it was on the first record I ever bought, as the age of I think 8 - might have been my 8th birthday present to myself actually. Third, its really weird for a number one song! It doesnt really have a chorus, just a dead catchy verse that repeats with key changes. The screams at the start are like Hammer House of Horror shit, and the guitars weirdly prefigure later bands like Spacemen 3 , Galaxie 500 and PIXIES.
