There are many companies that do not do it, and sell reputable, cruelty free, ethical cosmetics. Over 300,000 people signed the petition urging the European Parliament to enforce full protection of the Cosmetic Directive. Lush and the Humane Society banded together to take a stand against animal testing by taking a willing drama student and subjecting her to the same things animals endure everyday across the world- needles; shaving, skin irritants; force feeding; pain; fear. The gruesome spectacle aimed to highlight the cruelty inflicted on animals during cosmetic laboratory tests and raise awareness that animal testing is still common practice. Just because it happens behind closed doors, doesnt mean it isnt there.
