i dont think he should have gone ssj 4 but ssj 3 would be more beliveable since after all he did go ssj 2 in the hyperbolic time chamber but was not able to sustain it and from the power and length of his transformation actual surpasses gokus time to becoming a ssj 3 if you compare them in actual time it took for him to transform there forms..... at least i would have liked to see gohan become ssj 3 at anytime in the series but thats just me
