i forgot how calming it was to have my house surrounded by nature. My back may be throbbing depressingly still, yet sitting on my screened back porch, gazing at the sun lighting up my basketful of garden tomatoes (our wonderful neighbors each brought 4-5 from their gardens when they kindly came over to greet our young family), being able to watch my kids trade barefoot wagon rides as they aim for my freshly hung sheets on our clothes line...as the world seems to only spin faster and benefit ones who love the busy, the next level of corporate competition, who only seem to rest easy when theyve achieved x,y,z and breathe satisfaction with how many friends theyve accumulated this past month...for me, its the few loyal friends who refuse to gossip about me. Its the quiet country life, wearing the same jeans and changing t-shirts, no need to shop for whats hip but just what ya can wear cleaning and to play baseball with your family in, the joy in the simple, respecting the elderly and feeling honored to hear their stories, closeness to family: ive missed this so much. I needed this fresh breath of life. God knew. Nature to me, is his constant reassurance that he loves us. I fear that more and more people are forgetting to soak in nature to reach peace and connection with God and just reach for medication, more social media acceptance, etc to just.keep.up with the busyness of today. Take time. Slow down. Breathe in the beauty of nature. Invest your life into the people who truly love you. Dont lose your breath just trying to keep up. I know I have too many times. Save all your breaths to love more deeply.
