i hate how commercialized The American Girls have become. when i was younger, i devoured the books and owning three of them was amazing, but they were treasured. i dont recall them having 7 million accessories to buy (at an outrageous price), but maybe thats because i was more interested in the books than the dolls. that being said, ive introduced Nora to the old school American Girl collection. we started reading Meet Kirsten earlier this week and every night before bed wed read another chapter. its so great to see her enjoying the books as much as i did. im looking forward to sharing my American Girl Dolls with her after we read the books, but it just makes me a little sad that its become more about the dolls and the accessories than the stories.
