i sit here tonight with very mixed feelings. One one hand I am beaming with pride for my amazing son who has been through so much in his short 21 years of life (well he is by no means short per say but you get what I am saying lol) who would have ever thought that I would be sitting here like this with my heart so heavy with pride yet scared to death because tomorrow he will be moving into an apt with 3 other guys he has not met yet at UCF so he can continue his personal journey to be who he knows he should and wants to be. I would love to run in to those who told me that I should consider placing him somewhere when he was just 3 years old because the diagnosis they labeled him with generally said that he would never become anything and that as he grew we may not be able to deal with him. I thank God everyday for my beautiful family and for the fact that he entrusted them to me their mother to help them to be the best that they could be. I love all 4 of them with all my heart but this one.......this one amazes me everyday with his attitude and his compassion and his work ethic. He has been on the presidents list every semester at BCC with his 4.0 gpa, is an officer in an international academic honor society and has been accepted to UCF now after earning his AA to continue on to become the medical administrator that he desires to be. Not to shabby for a 3 yr old kid who was diagnosed severely autistic!!!!!!!!!!! I am so proud and happy for you darling! you are my hero!
