ields Company would like to thank everyone for the support and encouragement on our march to Trenton. We camped over night at the Thompson Neely house, posting pickets, cooking rations, and received His Excellency General Washington for inspection. After a cold hour of sleep, we stepped off at 4:10am and marched near 6 miles to McKonkeys Ferry. The only sound to be heard was a small clanking of a tin pot as we extended formation into a few open fields. After a cold camp at the crossing we proceeded another 8.3 miles to Trenton, arriving and nearly collapsing in the field from exhaustion. We then joined the rest of the Jersey Line for the successful attack on the Hessian outpost and were given the honor of capturing a field piece from the enemy! We would like to thank the Washington Crossing Park Association, Inc., Friends of Washington Crossing Park, The Old Barracks,The Third New Jersey Regiment, the Jersey Blues, and Dragoon Photography, as well as all of our friends and family for this great event!
