in my late teens when i lived alone above Habonim in Manchester. I used to terrify myself by thinking a mad axe man was chasing me ; consequently I would run up tens of stairs in record time. but that was an imaginary bogeyman. never in my life did i imagine i would live in a time when mad axe men roamed our streets hellbent on killing jews. or a time when fanatics with swords beheaded infidels and recorded their acts on film. or a time indeed when the word infidel was relevant. darkness looms over the light. violence and rhetoric abound. can we do a reset?
