is back home after a fantastic couple of days up north. Didnt begin well with the new Silver Dream Machine deciding to cut out at 80mph on the motorway three times meaning I spent the rest of the journey shitting myself. A common fault with Ford diesel engines apparently. WTF? Friday began with a few beers with Ian Prowse discussing music and fatherhood followed by a few beers with Paul Fitzgerald and James Litherland discussing music and sport and then some more beers with Debi McMillan and Paul McMillan and some old friends before going to Zanzi to see Pete Wylie with lots of friends old and new (Christine Colvin, Val Jacobs, John Maguire, John Buchanan and Ralph Rimmer). Woke with mild hangover and drove to Lancaster for a family celebration and got to catch up with Jonathan Rice, Lesley Katchburian and Elly May and their families young and old. Back to Liverpool on Sunday for a fabulous steak dinner with my ma-in-law Joan before heading over to the dark side for a gathering at Nicole Streatfields house where I bumped into Doreen Allen. Managed to catch the last 20 minutes of the match before that and enjoyed seeing the reds reach the summit after mashing the spuds. Drove home listening to the radio and hearing people discuss our mighty team and their chances of winning the title. I think I may require surgery to get the grin of my face. Carlsberg dont do weekends. How could they? They dont even do lager.
