its insane how spiteful, ignorant, jealous, and awful some photographers can be. Its usually the ones who arent really that successful that shoot models for no other reason than to update both of their online portfolios, and shoot the occasional wedding... which is fine, but as photographers we should be a supportive community. supporting each other, supporting our work, rather than being jealous that you dont OWN the models you work with (they DO work with other photographers ya know). I came across a very pathetic situation of a western mass female photographer constantly harassing and belittling a photographer from NH who is light years better in every way than the angry, clearly jealous photographer. Whats the point of tearing down another photographer? to make yourself feel better about what you wish you could do? or you just dont like them? fine! ignore them, thats what i do if i dont like someone. Life is too short to spend it on being a super negative butthole who tries harder in upsetting other people than their work. maybe if you spent more time on your work (rather than other peoples work) you would move forward in your career... but its difficult to gain any forward momentum when youre spending your time trying to pull others back. Theres a reason i essentially stopped doing local model shoots and focus entirely on bands... and its because of how much jealousy is within that very small and often unproductive hobbyist/weekend warrior world. When all you do is project negativity and complaints, no one will want to work with you. complaining about models, complaining about not getting paid enough, complaining about cropped photos... if someone looks you up and wants to work with you and only sees complaints, they will probably not end up working with you.... sorry to get long winded but i saw what was going on to my friend and couldnt help saying something... EDIT: just found out the spiteful angry photographer went out of her way to get other photographers and models ARRESTED for shooting in an abandoned area (trespassing) - how pathetic is that? literally emailed local police to tell them specific models and photographers shot there, and got them in trouble.... unreal. cant wait to see how karma hits her like a train...
