The major Roller Derby leagues, Gotham, BAD girls, Texas, etc, are really the major leagues in the sport....they are so visible and I honestly think it is a good idea that they look like the athletes they are.....and standard uniforms add to the image. But so many of the smaller leagues that are struggling remind me of minor league baseball, where you do more things to get and keep fans: contests, pie eating, etc, and what is harmful about drifting from the standard uniforms, makeup, more of a character? We all know it is hard to get people in seats.....Make it fun again, without harming the competitiveness. You are skating to have fun, arent you? Just my opinion.
