my friends we should always be on guard against feelings of moral or other superiority when we deal with our fellow travelers on lifes highways and byways. because the oxygen tends to get a little thin as we get higher we have to make some difficult decisions if we try to maintain our place among the exulted. if you plan on staying at altitude be prepared and bring some of the skills that you have acquired to live at the lower latitudes... the survival skills learned at your lowest rung on the ladder before you begin your ascension will be extremely helpful. the completion for air at the upper limits is fierce and those who survive basically do so by sending those who cannot retain their grip on the air supply back down the ladder. One begins to wonder as consciousness begins to fade in and out why we climbed so high and if we survive we sometimes awake to terrible dreams of words spoken and deeds done that challenge our beliefs about who we are and why we live in such fear of falling We my friends begin in order to preserve our place at altitude to covertly slip back to refresh ourselves to regain our strength we begin to prey on those close enough to feed on. We justify our behavior by noting that on our decent we see the same pattern being used at each level... the victimization of those closest to us the most oxygen rich target we can find. This morning as we watch yet another unprovoked attack on the world order... yet another attempt by a group attacking to upset the balance which those at altitude have established... lets be mindful of the daily struggle that surrounds us the one that we participate in. How are we fighting the fight if we are participating in the struggle. Why do we feel empowered to comment or condemn the method and timing of those who we are condemning. Listen to this bit of advice that we are given by a expert this morning ignore this event and go about your business My friends this advice has been given by those who would preserve their game for it seems forever Ignore an let us take care of these outlaws these ( insert your name or group) will be dealt with in your name I will stop and just to make sure I will disclaim any support for these individuals and their grab for our oxygen My friends I mean what a say here about the perils of ignoring what we claim as differences between us and those around us that elevates us and places them at our feet subject to our judgment and sentencing Judge not lest ye be judged has never been relevant then today as we what the judgment that is rendered against is producing in the world I am looking in the mirror my friends and I am not happy with my comfort in even writing this comment but we must try to at least get to our knees or maybe as some friends suggest back on our knees seeking some understanding of why this cycle continues I have not shared this song for a while How for have we come in addressing our justice system.
