#nrk AZAD BHARAT KA ITIHAS 486BJP’s strategy for forming government at the centre is before us, what is ours?Aziz BurneyThe way BJP has adopted the policy to capture power at the centre and ismoving towards it, it seems so strong and effective that it does not seem easy to thwart it. As a matter of fact, to foil the strategy of the communalists and to protect secularism and democracy has become the responsibility of the Muslims alone. All the rest have become accustomed to mould themselves according to the needs. Especially when the elections are round the corner, a leader who has the mask of secularism on his face in the morning is seen wrapped up in cloth of communalism by the fallof evening. A non-politician enters the political bandwagon and a seasoned politician goes into oblivion all of a sudden. This is verysurprising. Why on earth do we malign the lizard for changing his colours. The politicians will cause embarrassment to even the lizard. So far as the politicians are concerned, our secularism means following Hindu leaders. If we accept non-Muslim leaders and decide to vote in his favour, we are secular otherwise no one can save usfrom the allegation of being communal. And exploit this weakness of ours, various parties come before us in many colours to get our support. This has been happening for long. This morning at5 when I stepped in Delhi from Noida, many neon signboards of Mamata Banerjee and Anna Hazare greeted me with the message that Anna Hazare will support Mamata Banerjee all over India and Mamata will field candidates in the entire country. It was 8 A.M. when I returned home. After that I started meeting people. Some of them werethose who had got tickets from Mamata Banerjee’s party and some claimed they have got offers from AAP. They were mostly from Muslim communities. I was confused as to what I should advise them. I do not how much base the TMC has in Delhi and UP so I couldnot say if I advise them to go with them or not. Aam Admi Party is so popular that you see media giving coverage to Kejriwal all the time, now he has written a letter to such a such leader, now he has arrived at India Toda’s conclave in a charteredplane, now he has challenged Modi in his home turf, now his supporters have pelted stones at BJP headquarters, now they have been held in custody, now they have beenreleased etc etc.We do not deny their popularity. If the media is really impartial, their impartiality is commendable as theyhave decided to only highlight all the activities of Kejriwal totally ignoring the activities of Rahul Gandhi who is the representative of the oldest political party of India, that too, without any financial gains and without advertisements. As a result of this media campaign, it seems that the fight is between Modia and Kejriwal. I wished to write a allegorical story instead of this article today describing how we are being fooled in various ways andwe are so happy as if no one is wiserthan us. The bitter experiences of the past are before us. The constituencies with Muslim majoritypopulation were redrawn and there were turned into Muslim minority constituencies. Many Muslim majority constituencies were put in reserved category. Now in the rest of Muslim majority constituencies, where Muslim can win, various secular parties jump into the field with the mask of secularism and they field many Muslim candidates. As a result, BJP easily wins in these constituencies.Apart from our approach to Aam Admi Party, the party had entered politics with a secular outlook rising above community and caste. Why then is itfielding Muslim candidates against secular Muslim candidates? If it is really serious about defeating BJP, itshould field the candidates from the same caste where BJP has fielded itscandidates. AAP has many khas (special) individual to date. It’s Khas Admi can give a befitting fightto the BJP candidate in that constituency. We will be happy if it defeats the BJP candidate and even if loses, at least it can assure the victory of secular candidates and a secular government will be formed. But it does not seem to be happening. The team the RSS has formed on the pretext of fighting corruption three years ago has broken into three parts. This campaign was totally non-political at that time and was aimed at eliminating corruption from the country but gradually the campaign turned into a campaign against the Congress. Its three divisions are working separately today. The prominent division headed by Anna Hazare is standing with Mamata Banerjee and is busy running election campaign in the entire country. It is not direct politics but what can we term it if not politics. This is a step taken towards formation of the governments post elections. Another prominent sectionis in elections headed by Arvind Kejriwal and presenting himself as asecular face so that secular Muslim votes could be divided. The third section is headed by Kiran Bedi whois openly advocating Modi’s government at the centre. In other words, the team which the RSS had formed under Anna Hazare is today divided into three parts and working towards th;e same goal, formation of the likeminded party. And on the other hand, we are directionless despite being united. Our uniqueness is that we are not willingto be united against the BJP. We have not time to think if our particular step is against Modi or will benefit the BJP in the long run. How many seats can we win for Mamata Banerjee in the entrie country? 20, or 30 or 40? Can she become the Prime Minister with those seats? Can Mayawati can be successful in 25-30 seats outside UP. Has she promised that she will not join hands with the communal forces. At present we are standing atthe crossroads which does not lead us where we want to reach. We havesome regional Muslim parties that do not want to unite despite our efforts. And if they unite, will they get the non-Muslim votes in the same way we vote for non-Muslim candidates. Definitely not. It is sheerpolitical helplessness that we neithercan form our own party nor parties want to come to us for our votes. They do not want to make any promises to us but want our votes. Maulana Badruddin Ajmal, Akbaruddin Owaisi and Dr Aiyub Ansari had greater financial strengthand political experience than Kejriwal. He neither has Alladin’s lamp nor does he have the treasure trove of Qarun. Whatever stature he has achieved it is because he has burnt his midnight oil. Rashtriya Ulema Council has continued its struggle. But it does not seem to be strong enough to register its presence in the elections. Aren’t yousurprised how the party claiming to be running with the money of the common people left all the parties behind and from where it got the money. There is no dearth of capitalists and industrialists in oiur community. The way they help other political parties, if they had helped these political parties, they would not have been so weak and poor. I is not easy to put forward a complete strategy in a single article.I know that my newspaper reaches many places and does not reach many others. And the newspaper is not being sent to some places because the bills from those places have not been paid. We do not publish ads and a copy of the paper costs Rs 12 out of which if only Rs 3 do not reach, hard steps have to betaken. Nevertheless, the movement will go on though we know that the path is difficult. As the days of the voting come closer, the names and faces of candidates will also come forward. The statistics from all over the country are before us. We will put forth in which places the division of votes had harmed us. Some people have asked us over the phone what will our policy be towards NOTA button. I can’t understand what the use of NOTA button will be when even after using it a candidate will become victorious. The best option in this regard will be to choose a person from among us who can helpyou in times of need. He may belong to any caste or religion. If hewins, it will be the beginning of a new era. Even if he loses after getting huge votes, it will send the message to the political parties that now the people have the courage to choose their own candidates.--
