The Messenger AND Facebook app both have the same permissions list. if you have kik, snapchat, instagram, oovoo, skype etc they also have the similar . YOU dont have to accept these permissions especially if you have and android phone. them Now let me break it down to you Downloads files without notification can make it seem like you have no control over what an app is doing, when all thats really happening is its downloading information in the background. In Facebooks case, thats things like video previews (and now ads) in your timeline. Not so scary after all, eh?
