ok, my two cents. everybody like to bash drummers, drum companies - TopicsExpress

ok, my two cents. everybody like to bash drummers, drum companies and kit sizes. ok, fine . do it. but i am chosing to not do it. you know not everyone wants to be a charlie watts or ringo, and on the other extreme maybe some of us are not wanting to be like the portnoys, pearts, or manginis. but every one of these drummers i mentioned and hundreds of others all have something to offer. something you can use. no matter how small or big. i have learned from all of them. next: no point to bash on big or small drum sets. i can wail azz away on a 4 pc but do i like it ? no. i like a 5-6pc kit, normally a 10-12-14-16-22 setup ( as most of my kits, btw all Pearl masters, have components in these sizes) and 6-8 cymbals, 4 minimum. so yeah i like big kits too. i play what i need for that situation. now the drum company thing.. ok, i play what i play becuase it has for the last 30 years proven to provide me 1: a great tone, 2: extreme durability 3: easy tuning 4: stands behind their product. so yeah, i am loyal to pearl becuase they have proven to provide me my sound. dw, grestsch, ludwig, etc. dont give me what i need. . i have never played a kit by any of those that in my opionion was better to me than what i play ( then there is reference and masterworks which are the best drums out to me) , and why i stay. same with sabian. same with evans. same with vater. i havent had good luck with certain dw and gibraltar items.. so i play what i like and endorse it becuase it does what i want. not that other brands are bad, i just like pearl the best. so i am not going to bash this guy for dw, this guy for gretsch, etc. i have done it in the past, but its wrong for me to do and wrong for you to do. so respect a guys or girls kit, and their tastes. dig it? p.s. yes this includes lars ulrich too.
