Chief executive officers (CEOs) of more than 50 global corporates and over 30 political dignitaries, including United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon and United States Secretary of State John Kerry, are expected to participate in the seventh edition of the biennial Vibrant Gujarat Global Investors Summit scheduled for January 11 to 13 in state capital Gandhinagar. Majority of these participants would also remain present at a CEOs’ conclave to be attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, according to official sources. The summit will be represented by at least 250 of Fortune 500 companies. Osamu Suzuki, chairman of Suzuki Motor Corporation, Stephen Schwarzman, chairman and CEO of Blackstone Group, Sam Walsh, CEO of UK-based Rio Tinto Group and Ajay Banga of Mastercard, are some of the chief executives who have confirmed their participation in the summit. Besides them, Kazuaki Kama, chairman of Japan’s IHI Corporation, Go Watanabe of Bank of Tokyo, Ahmad Chatila, CEO of Sun Edison, David Schoch, president of Ford Motors in Asia Pacific region, Vittoria Colao, CEO of Vodafone group, David Farr, CEO of Emerson Electric, Jaspal Bindra of Standard Chartered, Mike Yeager, chairman of Cairn India, and Jochi Tsou of China Steel Corporation will also be there.
