paper. drawing. what paper are you in love with.? i have been doing some little charcoal sketches on a cream colored Canson smooth drawing paper. i have bought huge rolls of stonehenge paper before. at 52 inches. what i am looking for is some type of cardboard that i could do gouache or crayon on.. what type of carboard did Munch use? was it archival? i think this would help me make some sense of my paintings on this rich brown linen. any recommendations? favorite papers and mediums. also what do you use to fix the charcoal drawing? i used to watch my grandfather fix his drawings with a device that look like a bug sprayer but he used his mouth to blow the fixative( was it a shellac mixture?) onto the paper. i remember i tried it one time and got some of the fixative in my mouth. he was a sketch artist at the boardwalk in Alantic city and then at the Pike in long beach. i would find some of his pastel portraits at the thrift stores in long beach.
