As such, it offers permanent resettlement to Canada, and academic support is only provided for the first year rather than the entirety of an educational program as is the case with many scholarships. Beyond the first year, students (who are officially Permanent Residents upon their arrival in Canada) must apply for loans and bursaries with the support of their sponsoring group in order to finance the remainder of their education.
